Speaking of Eisners, in a Comicbook.com exclusive, it was announced that Eisner award-winning writer Jason Aaron is set to take over Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for IDW Publishing. IDW, who recently announced they renewed their agreement with Paramount, plans to relaunch, not reboot, the series, starting with a ten-page one-shot in June titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Alpha #1.
The series itself will then return in July with a new #1, set to take place in the same universe as the previous IDW Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics. In a statement, Aaron said, “Launching a new TMNT comic series in the midst of the characters’ 40th anniversary is clearly one of those dream jobs of all comic book dream jobs.”
