COMICS, COLLECTIBLES, & GAMES
Since March of 2022, The RCade Comics, Collectibles, & Games has been serving the needs of the comic and gaming community in Fort Wayne, IN. The RCade is located in the historic East State Village at 1245 E. State Blvd, in a unique building—a decommissioned firehouse. Customers instantly see the charm and character of the building as they enter, which is further amplified as they peruse the sales floor that formerly housed a fire engine long ago. The warm, charming, upstairs loft is home to a gaming area where customers may engage in their game of choice, find a cozy seat to read, or play video or arcade games. The gaming area may also be rented out for private parties. Although there is no fire pole, customers are drawn to the aesthetic the firehouse offers.
Looking for that perfect gift or an item to add to your collection? You can find character statues, Funko Pop! figures, action figures, gaming supplies, cards, and much more. Not only does The RCade have a vast variety of collectibles and games, but they also boast an extensive comic book selection. From CGC & CBCS graded wall books to back issues and vintage books, you can find just about anything here! The RCade also offers book pressing and CBCS grading submission services. The friendly and engaging staff welcome you as you enter and will gladly help you find what you are looking for. Have a question? The RCade staff are well-versed in many areas of pop culture and are collectors themselves. Ask the “regulars”—The RCade will welcome you and make you feel right at home.
In addition to being a beloved local comic book store, The RCade hosts community events for customers and passersby.
Events include book signings with featured artists, free cook-outs, store celebration parties, and Free Comic Book Day, to name a few. The RCade loves its community and welcomes everyone who passes by. You can add your favorite books to your personalized Pull List (via leagueofcomicgeeks.com) and visit the store regularly for pick-up. The RCade is also a Lorcana organized play store, with group play scheduled every Saturday and Sunday. Other game groups are also welcome; Dungeons and Dragons, BattleTech, Pathfinder, and Starfinder groups currently meet here, with room for more.
Organized group “trips” to newly released comic-related movies are a regular occurrence, aiming to build community and a sense of belonging. The RCade has even created its own podcast, “New Kids With a Shop,” aka “The RCade Podcast,” where you can hear discussions about comic book recommendations, comic culture, and some friendly banter.
If you are looking for a place to call “your store,” look no further than The RCade!
