I have always loved comic art and visual storytelling as a medium. As a teenager, I was drawn into my lifelong love for Peter Parker and his alter ego, Spider-Man, as I was an awkward teenager myself. My career dream was to draw comics and, of course, have a shot at drawing Spider-Man. But, as can often happen, I had a lot of self-doubt and chose a different career path as a press operator. This career allowed me to pay my bills and raise a family, but I never lost my love for art, so I practiced a lot.
With the rise of social media, I began to get requests and commissions. I started to think: maybe I can do this. Among these images are some of my first published work for Blue Juice Comics, Billy the Kit.
He is a great original character—lots of fun. You should definitely check it out! A special shout-out to Mindy Wheeler of Divinity Comics for commissioning several pieces. She is an absolute pleasure to work with.
My name is Keith Curtis, and I would love to work on your project! See more of my art on Instagram @5holestudios.
