Sean Gordon Murphy’s October launch of his Zorro: Man Of The Dead graphic novel hit its funding goal in less than thirty minutes. It also attracted the attention of creator Patrick Thomas Parnell (@PatrickThomasP1), who soon accused Murphy of swiping from his own Zorro comic.
In a now-deleted post on X, Parnell showed two similar images from each book, with the following caption:
“His, then mine from months ago.”
He later claimed that the swipe was only of the sugar skull makeup, not the poses, which calls into question the content of the deleted post. Murphy, also accused of “walking all over an indie”*, seems unbothered by the whole ordeal.
