No Royalties for Larry Hama

Fans of actor, writer, artist, and musician Larry Hama were surprised to learn via a Facebook rant that he doesn’t receive royalties for any of his G.I. Joe work or from any Marvel foreign sales. In his rant, inspired by a recent fan letter he’d received, Hama stated, “I’m 75, and I’m still working because I can’t afford to retire. […] I live on my page rate which hasn’t gone up in thirty years.”

However, many were unhappy with how this information was delivered, as he posted the actual fan letter while shaming the fan for asking for a sketch. Hama has now made fans aware that their letters will be discarded unread.
