Featured Cosplayer: Rachel Pizzolato

Rachel Pizzolato is a multi-talented, award-winning scientist, patent-pending inventor, published writer and poet, fashion and runway model, national champion trampolinist, and actor starring in Discovery Science Channel’s “MythBusters Jr.” Her inventive spirit has garnered success at the Greater New Orleans Science and Engineering Fair, where she won the Grand Award in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She’s also competed in many national and international competitions like Broadcom MASTERS (2016, 2017, 2018), Coolest Projects (2019 & 2020), and ISEF (2019, 2020, & 2022). Rachel was recently recognized as one of the top 300 young scientists in the world for the 2022 Regeneron Science Talent Search, and her research earned 3rd place in the 2022 International Science and Engineering Festival (ISEF). In 2016, she was awarded a minor planet named after her by MIT, known as “Pizzolato 33187.”

Rachel has walked the fashion runway for internationally renowned designers like Anthony Rubio, Stevie Boi, and Brick Allen, and has graced the covers of international fashion magazines such as Eclair, Style Cruz, Pump, Moevir, and GMARO. She has won numerous beauty pageants including the 2018 Miss Pre-Teen New Orleans, 2018 Pre-Teen Miss Louisiana State, and the 2018 Pre-Teen Greater Gulf States Supreme. She is also the reigning 2021 Miss Sportsman’s Paradise and 1st Runner-Up in the 2021 Miss Louisiana Teenage USA. Currently, Rachel is a GUESS model, walking the runways for GUESS in Lugano, Switzerland. Her passion for fashion is evident in her work with multiple designers, and she’s active in promoting unique styles that empower women. She has appeared at both LA and Miami Swim Week, New York Fashion Week, and Los Angeles Fashion Week.

Rachel’s passion for science fiction and comic cons is equally noteworthy. She frequently appears at events like San Diego Comic-Con, FanExpo, Wizard World, CyPhaCon, Big Easy Con, SiouxperCon, and STEM festivals around the country. She has portrayed a range of characters including Catwoman, Electra, and Rosie the Riveter, and is currently developing her own original character set to debut in 2024. Beyond cosplay, Rachel is involved in multiple film projects, starring in “Round The Decay” and “Censor Addiction.”

With a significant social media presence, Rachel has 164,000 followers on Facebook, 2.5 million on TikTok, and 1.4 million on Instagram, and she’s rapidly building a following on YouTube, where she explores history, automotive maintenance, and household repairs. She also supports the SPCA and promotes the humane treatment of animals. Rachel’s favorite hobby is speaking with kids, encouraging them to dream big and pursue their passions. She strives to show young people that with dedication, there are no limits to what they can achieve.
