Pendragon Pushback

Writer and creator of the crowdfunded series Wulfsbane, Aaron Jordan, recently received Twitter blowback over the protagonist for his newest series, Pendragon. The book pulls from King Arthur and Celtic mythology, but the main lead, David Gracie, is visibly not Caucasian. This has led to accusations of “race swapping” or “mantle swapping,” essentially changing a culture’s lore to fit a narrative about an unrelated culture.

Aaron maintains that the book shouldn’t be judged by its cover, and what it’s being accused of does not happen in the plot.
