Alberto Martinez, born and raised in NYC and currently residing in Pennsylvania, began drawing at 8 years old. He created Roadwarrior Drake when he was 13 years old. A graduate of the High School of Art and Design and a bachelor’s degree holder from the School of Visual Arts (where he learned under Jack Harris, Joe Orlando, and Carmine Infantino), he joined the indie comic book circuit in 2018.
In 2021, Alberto produced his first graphic novel, Street Champion Roadwarrior Drake. He took a break to take care of his wife, Stephanie, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. After her untimely passing in October 2022, Alberto halted production on another book and contemplated quitting the scene before he was inspired to press on with Drake’s 2nd graphic novel, Beast Citizen Roadwarrior Drake. His plans are for a 3rd and final book in the Drake saga before deciding on his next steps.
